Download Section

This section provides descriptions of, and access to, the various DB2000 downloads. At present there are 8 available downloads. With the exception of the DB2000R3.EXE download, the DB2000V3.Zip download, the RepWiz.Zip download, and the Jet Engine downloads, all other downloads are designed to be saved in the DB2000V3 directory replacing the current file.
Zip files are compressed files which require a commercial program to "unzip" the data. More details
File Name Explanation Dated LINKS
DB2000R3.EXE 22.0 Meg This is the complete system distribution and contains the latest versions of DB2000V3 (9.4.0.5) and RepWiz (10.0.0.9).
Note! DB2000 is a Windows only product. If you have a MAC, it will only work if you first install Virtual/PC, BootCamp, Parallel, or some other virtualizer or Windows emulator; then install Windows (we recommend XP) under the virtualizer, and then install DB2000 under Windows.
If you want to use the MQSeries method for data transfers to/from headquarters and do not currently have the MQSeries Client installed on your machine, remember to also download and install the appropriate MQSeries client from this page.

REPWIZ.ZIP 1.5 Meg This is the latest version of the Report Wizard (Version 10.0.0.9) used to design and create custom reports within DB2000. This download is a ZIP file and its contents must be extracted into the Program Files\DB2000V3 directory replacing any previous files with the same names. 04/28/2009 Download Report Wizard
HQREF.MDB 190K This file is supplied with the full installation of DB2000 so there is usually only one reason to download this file.

If you are a user in a very new squadron or a squadron with a new name who has a version of the distribution which was made before their squadron came into being or prior to a squadron name change. For those members of provisional squadrons, remember that you are members of District 90, not some other district and if you set yourself up as belonging to some other district, your squadron name will not be found

MS Jet Engine 6M There is only one reason to download these files.

You have received a message from the Report Wizard indicating the DAO is unable to initialize the Jet Engine. There are two files from Microsoft which resolve this problem.

You should download both files and save them on your machine. Then install them by executing each one. These files must be installed in sequence. You must install the MDAC_TYP.EXE file before installing the JET40SP3_COMP.EXE file. Make sure that nothing else is running when you install them.

MQ Series Client 4.5-135M The MQ Series Client is an independent, totally separate piece of software, developed by IBM, and used by DB2000 to communicate directly with the HQ Computers.

This direct communication capability enables real time generation of roster files and real time application of roster updates. There are three different clients available depending on your operating system and download speed. Download the appropriate ZIP file and then install its contents.

Help Downloading and Installing an MQSeries Client

Once you have installed the MQSeries client and have it working, there should be no reason to uninstall and reinstall it, unless you are changing your operating system or your hard drive has crashed.

If after installing the MQSeries Client it doesn't appear to be working, reboot your machine and try again before calling to say it doesn't work.

N/A Download the MQSeries Client for WIN/9x, ME   4.5MB

Download the MQSeries Client for WIN/NT, 2000, XP   10.5MB

HQDATA.EXE 18K There is only one reason to download this file.

You have been notified that your upload to HQ was no good. So far this has always been caused by a Cyclic Redundancy Code match failure which can have a number of causes. See below.

GhostScript and RedMon 7.5M If you are going to install this product, please print this page, read this complete section, and follow the directions carefully.
GhostScript is a file format converter. Redmon is a port redirection facility. Together they can be used to create a high speed facility to create PDF files from any program that creates printed output. For Free! No need to pay Adobe prices, and it runs faster.

The individual install and configuration processes for Ghostscript and Redmon are a bear. Therefore we have wrapped the individual installs inside an additional install layer that does all of the necessary setup and configuration. All you have to do is to allow it to install to the default directories. If you muck with it, it probably won't work. These facilities are licensed only to non-commercial entities.

The theory of this process is as follows:
You will add a new virtual PostScript printer on your machine and associate it with the RedMon port. All output sent to this printer will be redirected by the Redmon port to GhostScript. GhostScript has been configured to create PDF output.
In addition to these notes, make sure that you read the readme file for further insight. Make sure of the following:
The printer you install must be a PostScript printer.
The printer you install is not real. It doesn't exist. It is Virtual. Therefore choose a good one. We recommend a full function color printer such as the Apple Color LaserWriter 12/600 PS.

To summarize:
1. PLEASE allow the installs to choose their own default directories and do not change them.
2. If you're running some versions of NT you'll have to re-boot after the install. If we designed the install correctly it should tell you if you need to re-boot.
3. After the install is complete, you will have to add a new printer to your system using the Control Panel Add Printer facility. This will be a VIRTUAL printer, i.e. there won't really be any hardware, just a driver, and configuration data. This printer must be a postscript printer. We strongly suggest adding a feature powerful printer such as the Apple Color LaserWriter 12/600 PS. Depending on your how your OS is configured, you may need access to your Windows install CD to locate the proper driver. Remember that this is a VIRTUAL printer so don't let the add printer process print a test page.

When you use the add printer dialog, remember the following:
1. The new virtual printer you are adding will be local to your machine, not on a network.
2. You must set this printer to use port RPT1: which is a redirected port, and which should have been added and configured by the install. If by any chance you see an RPT2 or 3 or higher, use the highest numbered RPT port. This would mean that you already had some redirector ports prior to the installation of RedMon, so RedMon's port will be the last one added i.e. the one with the highest number.
3. The printer you are adding must be a PostScript printer. Some printers are capable of handling both PS (postscript) and another protocol. In this case make sure that you choose the PS driver.
4. Don't let the add printer dialog print a test page.
5. If the add printer dialog provides any ability for bi-directional data/control flow, disable it.

If when printing to this Virtual printer, it appears to not be doing anything, minimize your application window to find the dialog waiting behind it. It will always ask you for the name of the file to create.
